Starting in Spring 2023, this section will share new photos of Landmark Mews, Fairfax County's Bren Mar Park, Old Town Alexandria, and Washington, DC through each Season.

Enjoy some of the architecture, history, sights, dining, and shopping that surround you on a walk around Old Town Alexandria.
Parks & Walks Close to Landmark Mews
Landmark Mews not only has a landscaped 1 acre Commons and mature trees for residents to enjoy, the community is located within 10-15 minutes of numerous parks, walking trails, and bike paths within the City of Alexandria and Fairfax County. The photos and videos below show some of these close by green spaces.
Bren Mar Park
Bren Mar Park is a Fairfax County Park that is adjacent to Landmark Mews. With a 10 minute walk, you can enjoy 32 acres of mature trees, Turkeycock Run stream, Truss bridges, and walking trails.

Ben Brenman Park
Ben Brenman Park is a City of Alexandria park that is a 10 minute drive from Landmark Mews. The Park is next to the Cameron Station community at 4800 Brenman Park Drive. The Park has 59 acres of walking trails, a picnic Pavillion, a lighted dog park, a lake with , ball fields, playground, & an amphitheater.

Lake Accotink Park
Lake Accotink Park is a Fairfax County Park that is a 15 minute drive from Landmark Mews (7 miles). The Park has 493 acres of walking & bike trails (4 mile loop), canoe, kayak & paddle boat rentals, 26 horse antique carousel, mini golf, and classes & camps. Huntley Meadows Park
Huntley Meadows Park is a Fairfax County Park that is a 15 minute drive from Overlook (5 miles to S. Kings Highway entrance/7 miles to 3701 Lockheed Blvd. main entrance). The Park is open Dawn to Dusk.
The Park is the largest in Fairfax County, with 1154 acres with a diverse habitat including wetlands, meadows and mature forest. The Park has a Visitor's Center, walking trails (approximately 1.8 & 1.5 miles, with several short break off trail loops), and a half mile boardwalk over wetlands. Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk, but are welcome on the trails. Classes and camps are offered, along with Bird watching events (more than 200 birds species identified in the Park). Green Spring Gardens
Green Spring Gardens is a Fairfax County Park that a 10 minute drive from Landmark Mews (3 miles). The 31 acre park is an outdoor classroom, a museum, and is on the US National Register of Historic Places. The park has more than 20 demonstration gardens, a horticulture center and library, a greenhouse, ponds, paths, and a 2-story, Georgian-style Historic House built in 1784. The park offers educational programs that focus on practical landscaping and gardening techniques for the Washington Metro area. See more info at the following Fairfax County link.

Winkler Botanical Preserve
The Winkler Botanical Preserve is a little known 45 acre natural Oasis in the West End of Alexandria (10 minutes from Landmark Mews). Located next to the Mark Center, the Preserve has walking trails with change of elevation, a lake, waterfalls, streams, and a lodge used for educational programs. The Preserve protects plants native to the Potomac region. More details in the video below and the following link to NoVA Parks.
